The HRIS Data Analyst provides HRIS System Administration, including system configuration and implementation, report development, data management, troubleshooting, training, and system updates. The HRIS Data Analyst will collect, compile, and analyze qualitative and quantitative HR data, metrics, and statistics, and apply this data to make recommendations to help ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency for our Human Resources functions. This position also serves as a backup to payroll and works closely with the internal human resources, information technology and analytics teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • System Support: Provide high level support for the HRIS System, troubleshoot, research, recommend solutions and ensure appropriate parties are involved in resolving problems.
  • Process improvement: Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities. Recommend process improvements and innovative solutions.
  • Data Analytics: Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS), management and employee surveys, exit interviews, and employment records. Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, employee engagement, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Reporting: Create and support a variety of advanced reports utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Prepare regularly scheduled reports and ad-hoc reports as required. Provide HR team with report writing guidance. Provide training for managers on reporting.
  • Various modules: Gather, build, and test requirements for multiple modules within HRIS, Time & Attendance, Payroll, Leave Management, and others.
  • Training: Responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of training for managers and employees on the HRIS. May include other HR related topics within our online Learning Management System as well as additional training provided outside of the LMS. Maintain training tracking to ensure compliance with required training.
  • Audit and Validation: Ensure accuracy of data through routine data audits and validation.
  • Liaison to Other Departments: Play a key role in collaboration with IT and/or Payroll on all HRIS related issues including the development and implementation of HR related systems and integrations.
  • Backup to Payroll: Serve as a backup to the Payroll Specialist. Responsible for full-cycle payroll processing in Paylocity as needed. Ensure accurate employee data is entered into Paylocity, update payroll and spreadsheets for hires, promotions, and terminations.
  • Support for other HR functions: Cross train to support various HR functions including employee benefits, employee relations, recruiting, training, leave management.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the orientation and training of volunteers within the organization
  • Expected to perform additional duties.

Qualifications:

  • Education / Certification
  • Bachelor of Science preferred with a concentration in Business Management or Human Resources

  • Experience
  • Human Resource experience of at least 3-5 years in HR Generalist and/or HRIS Specialist role
  • HRIS configuration experience required.
  • Experience with Paylocity preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS, Payroll, Leave Management, Recruiting, Time & Attendance, Learning, and Benefits Administration strongly preferred.
  • Experience with the building and maintenance of calculated fields is preferred.
  • Strong technical and working knowledge of HRIS systems, applications, theory, and practice.
  • Fundamental understanding of SQL and relational database design.
  • Knowledge of HRIS security administration and analytics strongly preferred.
