Responsible for assisting the Executive Vice President and the Director of Development of the Foundation in executing fund-raising activities and events targeting corporate giving and individual donors via direct mail appeals and other strategies to support Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Works together with Director of Development to help coordinate aspects of the Hospice Foundation's Direct Mail annual appeals program.
  2. Cultivates and solicits the identified individual and corporate prospects for multiple appeals (spring, fall, lapsed donor) and corporate sponsorship.
  3. Oversees and coordinates all aspects of the Employee Giving Campaign.
  4. Identify potential major gift donors and work with the Director to build pipeline for major and planned gift donors.
  5. Supports the various events with sponsorship outreach, promotional strategies, and preparation of print materials, direct mail solicitations, online marketing, and donor communication.
  6. Promotes and educates prospects on the various giving opportunities including unrestricted funds, special funds, and endowments.
  7. Engages in prospect cultivation strategies with the Executive Vice President and the Director of Development to help build the portfolio of prospects and donors.  
  8. Provides primary oversight of the Foundation signature Klosterman Society, $1,000+ donors, targeting top donors to the Foundation's Annual Fund drive. Responsibilities include recruitment and cultivation of Signature Society membership, communication, strategizing with volunteer chairs, incorporating board support, as well as planning and execution of all related events and activities.
  9. Responsible for cultivating and stewarding Foundation donors and volunteers at the $500-999 level to build pipeline for the Klosterman Society.
  10. Recruits new external partners (e.g., civic groups, clubs, schools and small businesses) as it relates to opportunities for fundraising and marketing promotions.
  11. Prepares articles, solicitation letters, and other written materials for the organization's various print and online publications.
  12. Assists Executive Vice President and Director of Development with board relations relative to Annual Fund and corporate sponsorship efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Education / Certification - Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience - At least 3 years' experience in development for a non-profit organization.
