The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out research and development activities with the Research Team in a hospice and palliative care setting in accordance with research ethics and compliance regulations. This includes, but not limited to research activities relating to: conceptualization, implementation, coordination, enrollment, data collection, analysis,report and manuscript writing etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assume lead roles in various clinical research projects: proposes, plans, organizes, and executes experiments and research
  • Assume various supportive and collaborative roles in other clinical research projects: day-to-day coordination, organization, and execution of research projects, which may include administrative duties
  • Coordinate of research subject participation (eligibility determination, consent, enrollment etc.), oversight and management of data, collaboration with research team and personnel.
  • Conducts on and off site data collection using a variety of structured and non-structured questionnaires or interviews
  • Data management and analysis: interprets, draw conclusions and discuss with research team.
  • Perform various editorial duties; writes, reviews, edits various materials for reports and publications and materials for conference presentations.
  • Assist in coordinating research-related activities with research and clinical/non-clinical staff throughout the organization, as well as external agencies e.g. IRB
  • Must be able to work autonomously and collaboratively with multidisciplinary team and demonstrate reliability and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ensure that research ethics and standards are upheld throughout the entire process.
  • Perform training duties for junior staff, volunteers and clinicians.

Education / Certification

  • Minimum bachelor's degree with research work experience (with humans). Masters or PhD preferred. This position is ideal for individuals who are currently in their master's or Ph.D. program.
  • Preference given to individuals with a psychosocial background, although team values diversity.
  • Must have valid driver's license and vehicle for travel to conduct research studies at sites that may include patient and family homes.


  • Previous research experience with humans required. Psychosocial research experience preferred.
  • Preference given to individuals who are familiar both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Preference given to individuals who have conducted research in a palliative care and/or hospice setting
